There are also two brothers, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Otto S. Timmons, the son of Emily and Charles F. Timmons, was born on a farm near Emerson in Mills County, Iowa on January 5, 1890. He departed this life, very unexpectedly, on May 31, 1968 at the Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 26 days. He lived with his parents and family near Emerson and Pacific Junction, Iowa before moving to Ashland, Nebraska. It was there he was united in marriage to Orpha Hatfield in 1911. They moved to Valley, Nebraska and then to Newman Grove, where his wife passed away in 1920. Mr. Timmons continued to make his home in Newman Grove and it was there he was united in marriage to Gertrude Henseleit on December 6, 1929. They operated the Hatchery business in Newman Grove until 1944, when they moved to Harlan and this has been their home since that time. After moving to Harlan he transferred his membership to the Congregational Christian Church and he served his Church in various offices since that time. Mr. Timmons was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Newman Grove and of Mt. Siani Encampment No. 106 of the Harlan Odd Fellow Lodge. In addition to his wife, Orpha, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Mr. Timmons is survived by his wife, Gertrude; his son, Jay, of Ashland, Nebr.; his daughter, Mrs. Marie (William) Gorman of Buffalo, New York, a step-daughter, Mrs. Verona Frei of Culver City, Calif.; and by six grandchildren and three great grand-children. He is also survived by two brothers - Glen M. of Omaha, Nebraska and Rex of Chico, California; by several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pauley Home for Funerals in Harlan with Rev. Loren W. Hickerson, officiating. Interment was in the Harlan Cemetery. Casket bearers were: Eddie D. Ross, Francis Rihner, Lowell Philson, Theodore Niemann, Andrew Christensen and George H. Campbell.
