Description	:	LONE TREE — Ovie Otis Watkinson, 78, of Lone Tree died this morning at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Lone Tree, with the Rev. Roy Shaughnessy officiating. Friends may call at the Sorden and Adams Funeral Home after noon Tuesday. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Mr. Watkinson was born Dec. 3, 1889, in Johnson County, the son of Samuel E. and Alice Mannett Watkinson. On Feb. 13, 1912, he was married to Elizabeth Slaughter. Mr. Watkinson, a retired farmer, was a resident of the Lone Tree area for most of his life. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Pearl of Council Bluffs, Walter of Riverside, and Evan of Lone Tree; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Ruppert of Iowa City, Mrs. Alice Gerot of Riverside, Mrs. Mary Gerot and Mrs. Shirley King, both of Lone Tree; three brothers, Everett and Fay of Iowa City, and Harley of Lisbon; one sister, Mrs. Maudie Petru of Lone Tree; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
