Description	:	Avie Rohr, who was an employee and later a partner in the Rohr Bros Nickel Plate Cafe in Burlington since 1908 died at 2:30 o'Clock Thursday afternoon, June 27, 1957 at the home at 409 Yuba St. in Burlington. The cafe was closed a few months ago because of Mr Rohr's health. He had been gradually failing since and had been critically ill at his home the past two weeks. He was born in the Wolfe Creek neighborhood, Aug 1, 1888. Mr. Rohr is survived by his wife of the home, by a son. Dr. Joe Rohr of Michigan City IN, and a granddaughter, Judith Rohr. He also leaves two sisters Mrs Flora DeLong of Burlington and Mrs Albert Zscheile of Ventura CA and a brother Dewey Rohr of Burlington. Other close relatives are a half-brother Charles Nickel two nephews, Charles Nickel, Jr of LeRoy and Cecil Smith of Tusla OK and two nieces Miss Fern Smith of Coffeyville and Mrs Esther Ekstrand of Liberty Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday from the W.S. Mann chapel on Third St. in Burlington and will be conducted by Rev. Joe Tempfer, pastor of the Burlington Christian Church. Internment will be in Graceland Cemetery with Masonic Services at the grave. The body will lie in state from this evening until time for the services and the casket will not be opened afterwards. Burlington business houses will be closed for an hour during the time of the service.
