Description	:	Ovis Earl Wright, 58, who resided in this community, died at his home, after a lengthy illness, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 1964. Mr. Wright, who was a farmer during all of the active portion of his adult life, was born in the Comers Rock section of Grayson County March 19, 1906, to the late F. Leff Wright and wife, Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Taylor Wright. Mr. Wright, who was a farmer during all of the active portion of his adult life, was born in the Comers Rock section of Grayson County March 19, 1906, to the late F. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vada Hackler Wright; one son, Odell Wright, Elk Creek; three sisters, Mrs. Crockett Sutherland and Mrs. Mellie Cornett, both of Elk Creek, and Mrs. Raymond Thomas, Galax, and two brothers, Neal Wright, Roanoke, and Berlin Wright, Street, Md. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel, Independence, by the Rev. A. T. Britt, pastor of the Elk Creek Methodist Circuit, and the Rev. Fred E. Jennings, of Independence, Baptist. Interment was in the Hackler Cemetery, Pine Mountain. The body rested at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home prior to the services. Pallbearers were Gwyn Parsons, J. Phil Bennington, Berlin Catron, Richard Wright, Grant Sutherland and Bert Sutherland. Published in the Galax Gazette; Tues., Aug. 25, 1964.
