Born October 13, 1945 in Lynchburg, Binky was a son of the late Madeline Woody Banton and the late Owen Lee Banton, Sr. Binky is survived by his sister Bonnie Gowen and her husband, Bernie, of Madison Heights, a nephew Bradley Stinnette, of Madison Heights, two nieces: Marsha Wells and her husband, Robbie, of Lynchburg, and Susan Anderson and her husband, Dean, of Buford, GA; and a special cousin, Jane Johnson, of Lynchburg. Born October 13, 1945 in Lynchburg, Binky was a son of the late Madeline Woody Banton and the late Owen Lee Banton, Sr. Binky is survived by his sister Bonnie Gowen and her husband, Bernie, of Madison Heights, a nephew Bradley Stinnette, of Madison Heights, two nieces: Marsha Wells and her husband, Robbie, of Lynchburg, and Susan Anderson and her husband, Dean, of Buford, GA; and a special cousin, Jane Johnson, of Lynchburg. Binky proudly served our country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a very independent person, who enjoyed wood working. He especially liked making things with his hands. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Disabled American Veterans, 8400 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502 or the Helping Hands Ministry, Madison Heights Baptist Church, 329 Main Street, Madison Heights, VA 24572. The family would like to thank care givers Shirley Thomas and Cecil Crawford for the loving care given to Binky.
