MURRAY, 74, A RETIRED TRAVELING MAN, TAKEN AT DAUGHTER’S HOME. P. Gad Murray, 74 years old, retired traveling salesman for the International Harvester Co. and resident of Ottumwa for more than thirty-one years, died at 8:25 p.m. Monday in Eldon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Doran, where he and his wife were spending the winter. They made their home here at 2218 East Main street. A native of Oskaloosa, Mr. Murray was born there March 29, 1859. He traveled for the International Harvester Co. for more than thirty years and was retired from the employe of the company about ten years ago. Mr. Murray was married to Susan J. Connelly at Agency on September 16, 1880. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Susan J. Murray; one daughter, Mrs. Doran of Eldon; four grandchildren, Arnold Murray of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs John Lancey of Ottumwa and Wanda Doran and Dick Murray of Eldon, and one sister, Mrs. Florence Hayes of Oklahoma. Mr. Murray was a member of Kaaba Shrine of Davenport and A.F. and A.M. lodge No. 16 and Malta commandery No. 21, Knights Templar, of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Daggett funeral chapel. The Rev. F.J. Robbins, Methodist Episcopal church pastor at Eldon, will officiate. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Agency. Pallbearers will be Joe Connelly, Frank Connelly, Ronald Johnson, Lawrence Truitt, John Lancey and Charles Doran.
