Mrs. West was born in Blackwater, Va., on Sept. 30, 1908, a daughter of the late Floyd and Essie Robinette Bledsoe. She was a Baptist. Mrs. West was a retired textile employee and a housewife. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-laws, Emma Jean Babb and husband, James, and Ollie Mae Brock and husband John, both of Buffalo; two sisters, Sally B. Haney and Margaret B. Hogan, both of Union; a brother, Floyd Bledsoe Jr. of Rome, Ga., 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Joan Craddock of Spartanburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Donald Tillman, the Rev. Ray Harold Belue and the Rev. Chad Lawson. Burial will be in the Putman Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Harold Gregory, Brad Lawson, Scotty Childres, William Parks, Jerry Burgess, Harold David West, Tony Peay and Dean Haney. The following are asked to assemble at the funeral chapel Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. to form the honorary escort: Ernest O'Shields, Gene Quinn, Dean Quinn, Marvin Babb, Dr. Gerald Fielder, Bruce Lawson and Dr. David Keith. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 9. The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Debra Babb, 312 Putman Road, Buffalo, and at the home of her daughter, Ollie Mae Brock, 248 Putman Road, Buffalo.
