She was born near Soldier, Iowa, on March 13, 1907, the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Thompson) Lee. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1925 and attended Cedar Falls State Teachers College. She was born near Soldier, Iowa, on March 13, 1907, the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Thompson) Lee. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1925 and attended Cedar Falls State Teachers College. She married Elmer C. Erickson December 15, 1926, in Council Bluffs. The couple farmed near Soldier and Ute, moving into Ute in 1965. Mr. Erickson died September 23, 1985, in Denison. She was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church where she was active in the women’s groups and served as organist for many years. Survivors include a son, Roger of Omaha, Nebr.; a daughter, Mrs. Byron (LaJune) Godbersen of Ida Grove; a brother, Elliott Lee of Spirit Lake, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Janet) Sanford of Carroll, Ia.; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Blair. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 1988, in the Soldier Lutheran Church at Soldier with Pastor Larry Sydow officiating. Mrs. Ivan Gibbs was the organist. The Men’s Quartet, Gordon Foss, Craig Swenson, Stanley Hansen and Marc Clemon, sang “Abide with Me”. Don Rusch sang “How Great Thou Art”. Honorary bearers were Michael Lee, George Lee, Jr., Clark Ruffcorn, Jack Sanford, Myrlin Lee, Bryce Lee and Andy Brosius. Active bearers were Bruce Godbersen, Kenneth Harriman, Tom Butler, Van Corr, Joseph Laitner and Jason Sanford. Interment was in the Soldier Lutheran Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Soldier, Iowa
