Born July 29, 1947 in Sidney, Nebraska she was the first-born of Martin Jacobs and Berniece (Aurich Jacobs) Filsinger. She was baptized confirmed, and attended grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1965 and St. John's College, Winfield, Kansas, in 1967. Read More	Pamela Kay Jacobs, age 59, died Friday, October 6, 2006 in Toledo, Ohio after a short illness. Born July 29, 1947 in Sidney, Nebraska she was the first-born of Martin Jacobs and Berniece (Aurich Jacobs) Filsinger. She was baptized confirmed, and attended grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1965 and St. John's College, Winfield, Kansas, in 1967. She lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 31 years where she served as secretary/parish worker at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. At the University of Tulsa, she served as academic advisor in the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences and Secretary in the Chemistry Department. In 1998, Pam moved to Findlay, Ohio to be close to her brother, sister-in-law and nephews in Toledo. She was employed at the Northwest Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as secretary/receptionist. Pam understood the servant role which Jesus modeled. She was very devoted to her job in the Northwestern Ohio Synod Office. She was interested in social issues and became involved in relief efforts following the devastating hurricane season in the fall of 2005. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Findlay, where she played in the Trinity Bells and joined the knitting ministry. She also enjoyed history, reading and her German heritage. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Berniece and Orville Filsinger, Sidney, NE; her brother and sister-in-law, Pastor Merlin Jacobs and Ann Augustin-Jacobs, Toledo, OH; nephew Aaron Jacobs, Milwaukee, WI; nephew Timothy Jacobs, Athens, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Ron Anderson, Greeley, CO; step-brother, Marvin Filsinger, Sidney, NE and children: Areena (Filsinger) Webb and family, Johnstown, CO; Shelby (Filsinger) Roelle and family, Sidney, NE; Dawn Filsinger and Ryan Filsinger, Windsor, CO; step-sister Gloria (Filsinger) Vegas and daughter Rachelle, San Jose, CA ; and step-sister and brother-in-law Javonne (Filsinger) and Randy Krueger, Campbell, CA and children: Jared and Laura Campbell, CA and Elizabeth, New York, NY. Pam was preceded in death by her father, both sets of grandparents and her Uncle Vern. The family was assisted with arrangements, by Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, OH. Visitation will take place at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St., in Toledo on Monday, October 9 from 4 pm to 8 pm. There will also be visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 West Bigelow in Findlay, on Tuesday, October 10 from 10am until noon when the funeral service will be held. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, Nebraska on Friday, October 13. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lutheran Disaster Response for Hurricane Katrina Relief or Trinity Lutheran Church.www.reebfuneralhome.com
