| Description | : | Pamelia "Pattie" Gill was the daughter of Peter Gill (1797-1862) and Sarah "Sally" Earle Jones Gill (b 1810). She married D. S. "Mark" Allen (1838-1891), the son of James Allen and Amaryllis Morgan Allen. In 1881, D. S. Allen became the first Superintendent of Education Vance Co. when Vance County was formed. Together Mark and Pattie had five children - Olive Allen who died unmarried, Nettie Allen who married A. B. Deans, James Bayard Allen who married Minnie Kimball, Dr, Benjamin Gill Allen who married Neita Watson (1882-1963), and Jessie Allen who married Rufus M. Person. |
