The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of arrangements. Patricia Ann Barlow was born May 28, 1939, in Hampton, Iowa to Edmund and Viola (Hobson) Caton. Pat confirmed her faith on July 9, 1965, in Schaller, Iowa. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller, Iowa. Pat went to high school in Ackley and graduated in 1957. She went on to college at Ellsworth Junior College and graduated in 1959. Pat taught in Arthur and Schaller. On August 11, 1960, Pat married Charles Barlow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. Chuck and Pat were blessed with two children: Michael and Susan. Pat was a farm wife with Chuck. Pat served on the Schaller Library board for several years and became the Library Director in 1994, an occupation she enjoyed for nine years before retiring in 2003. Pat was also a custodian at St. Paul Lutheran Church for 21 years. While the kids were young she was a leader for the Happy Hearts 4-H Club. Pat taught Sunday School and served on the Education Board; also including her membership on the Women's Guild and Ladies Aid. She was a part of the Eden Neighbors Club and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed many things, but most of all she loved quilting, reading, and flower gardening. Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Michael Barlow of Lakeside, Iowa; Susan Barlow of Johnston, Iowa; sister, Donna Linne of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Virginia Barlow of Schaller, Iowa; Marge (Tom) Ruhberg of Carver, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Barlow; parents, Edmund and Viola Caton; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Anna Barlow; brothers and sisters-in-law: Henry Linne Jr.; Cecil Barlow; Betty and Dick Frank; and Darlene and Harry Gilson.
