Description	:	Patricia A. Payne, 84, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, passed away Monday evening, February 20, 2017 at the Barnsdall Nursing Home. Born August 30, 1932 in New Salem, Kansas, she was the daughter of William Irvin and Ora B. (Steward) Orand. She was raised and received her education in the Winfield area. She was united in marriage to N. Leon Payne on January 20, 1950 at the Grandview United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Wilmot. Payne, 84, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, passed away Monday evening, February 20, 2017 at the Barnsdall Nursing Home. Born August 30, 1932 in New Salem, Kansas, she was the daughter of William Irvin and Ora B. (Steward) Orand. She was raised and received her education in the Winfield area. She was united in marriage to N. Leon Payne on January 20, 1950 at the Grandview United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Wilmot. They later moved to Kansas City, Denver, Colorado and finally to San Antonio, Texas. They moved to Oklahoma in 1994 to be near family. Patricia worked in the aircraft industry for several years, beginning at Beech Aircraft, then Lear Jet and finally for Dee Howard in San Antonio, Texas. She received her real estate license and sold real estate for a time in between aircraft companies. Patricia enjoyed flower gardening and being with her family. Her family includes: Her sons: Dennis Payne of Emporia; David Payne and wife, Cheryl of Newkirk, OK; Her daughters: Terri Miller and husband, Mike of Pauls Valley, OK; Leisa Payne and husband, Harvey of Pawhuska, OK; Her 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Payne, a son, Montie Payne, her sister, Beulah Stephens, brothers, Jim Orand and John Orand and her grandson, Coy Miller. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Miles Funeral Service. A private burial will take place later that day at New Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be in Patricia’s name to the Barnsdall Nursing Home, PO Box 499, Barnsdall, OK 74002. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
