Description	:	Patricia Ann Thomas,78, a long-time resident of the Eldon area, died early Sunday morning April 17, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Ottumwa, IA, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. As were her wishes her body has been cremated with no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pat’s honor may be directed to the Eldon Christian Church. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.kremerfh.com. Pat was born September 13, 1937 in Ottumwa, IA to Frank and Ruth (Johnson) Rogers. From the age of six was reared on a small farm in Davis County, IA. She attended Eldon High School and graduated in 1955. Shortly after high school graduation she joined the Women’s Air Force where she served honorably from 1955-1958. She acquired secretarial and accounting skills at various schools in the Air Force, and served overseas in both England and Germany. After being honorably discharged, Pat worked at various jobs using the skills acquired in the military. She was employed by John Morrell and Company in both Ottumwa, IA and Oakland, CA. In 1972 Pat and her husband Jim moved back to Iowa from California. She worked for Loudens for many years, as well as spending a few years as the Eldon City Clerk. Pat was very active in the Eldon Christian Church. She loved playing the piano and singing. Anyone who knew her would probably agree she never failed to adopt and care for stray cats that found their way to her home. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth Rogers; a brother, Allen Rogers and a sister Marilyn Hofstetter. She is survived by her sister Willadean Roberts of Burlington, IA; brother, Gary Rogers of Napa, CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
