Pat was born on July 27, 1930, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Gladyce (Harrington) and Hayden (Sonny) Jacobs. She attended schools in Jamestown, where she participated in Girl Scouts, Rainbow and Sub Debs, graduating in 1948. She married Duane Rohde on her birthday in 1950 in Jamestown. Pat was born on July 27, 1930, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Gladyce (Harrington) and Hayden (Sonny) Jacobs. She attended schools in Jamestown, where she participated in Girl Scouts, Rainbow and Sub Debs, graduating in 1948. She married Duane Rohde on her birthday in 1950 in Jamestown. They were married 44 years before his passing in 1994. They later moved to Valley City, Sanborn and Dazey, where they farmed for 14 years. While at Dazey, she was a member of the choir of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She sang numerous solos and duets with Duane Ladbury for weddings and funerals in the area. Pat was always proud of her huge garden and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed bowling and usually belonged to two leagues in Hannaford. She made many friends there. Doris and Clarence Weller welcomed them to the community and they had remained friends over the years. In 1969, they moved back to Valley City, where she lived until 2008, when she moved to Spokane to live with Wayne & Aline. She later moved to an assisted living facility in Spokane. She retired from the Barnes County Extension Service in 1992, after twenty years. She belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary and Women's Bowling Assn. She enjoyed Bingo with friends and neighbors. She also drove Meals on Wheels for years, even after she should have been on the receiving end. She visited her mother, in the nursing home in Jamestown, faithfully every Sunday for years bringing her favorite dog, Pudger. He never failed to bring cheer to anyone around him. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; brother, Frank Jacobs; sister, Carol Gabrielson; brothers-in-law, Merle Rohde, Earl Gabrielson and Jerry Kringlie; daughter, Denice Rohde; nephews, Mark Rohde and Greg Curtis. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Skjeret Graner (Kenny) of Billings, MT; son, Wayne (Aline) Rohde of Spokane; grandchildren, Lance Skjeret of Billings; Kelly Skjeret (Kellie) of Bedford, TX; Brandon Rohde Powell (Bree); and Brittany Duffy, both of Spokane; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brennan Skjeret of Billings; Dakota and Lauren Skjeret of Bedford; and Hunter Rohde Powell of Spokane; sisters-in-law, Shirley Kringlie of Littleton, CO; Janice Schmitt of Valley City and Darlene Jacobs of Fargo, ND. The family wishes to give a huge THANK YOU to Aline Rohde, who provided mom with the help she needed when she needed it. Mom, you were great! When we were growing up, we just didn't realize it. I can't believe what a wise woman she was, but it was evident by her choices later in life. She was well prepared for the end, much better than we were. She always set a good example.
