She was born in Indiana on October 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Richard and Caroline (Ryberg) Dierkes. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a 1947 graduate of Defiance High School. Patricia married Donald Gearing on June 11, 1949, and he died Oct. 15, 2008. She worked as a St. John School volunteer and GM office worker. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Debra (Alan) Fick of Defiance; two grandchildren, Eric and Eryn Fick; three sisters-in-laws, and... Preceding her in death were a brother, Richard Dierkes; her husband and parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery
