She was born March 9, 1946 in Bamberg County, the daughter of the late Rhoad McCormick and the late Sabra Carter MCormick. She was a member of Edisto Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Charles B. Edgemon of Orangeburg; three daughters, Melissa Gayle Dawson and David of Orangeburg, Jennifer Charlene Jones and Ted of Salley and Sheryl Edtgemon Gardner and Michael of Orangeburg; one son, Charles Levern Edgemon and Michelle of Orangeburg; three brothers, Freddie McCormick of Orangeburg, Johnny McCormick of St. Matthews and Billy McCormick of Branchville; and six granddaughters. Friends may call at the residence, 129 Oakmont Dr., Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
