Description	:	Patricia M. Marley, 80, of Billings and formerly of Scobey, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2012, at the Billings Clinic following a massive stroke. Patti was born in Flaxville on Sept. 21, 1931, one of 10 daughters to William and Anna (Bourassa) Parent. She grew up and was educated in Flaxville and in 1947 married Max Walter. Marley, 80, of Billings and formerly of Scobey, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2012, at the Billings Clinic following a massive stroke. Patti was born in Flaxville on Sept. 21, 1931, one of 10 daughters to William and Anna (Bourassa) Parent. She grew up and was educated in Flaxville and in 1947 married Max Walter. They had two children prior to Max's death from cancer in 1954. On May 29, 1957, Patti married Gene Marley. They lived in Scobey where Gene worked for Mountain Bell and Patti challenged the State Board of Nursing for an L.P.N. license. After receiving her license she worked at the Daniels Memorial Hospital for many years while raising five children. Patti was a member of the St. Phillips Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She and Gene moved to Billings in 1994 after retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Maxine (Paul) Smiley of Seattle, and Terri (J.D.) Longbella of Monument, Colo.; two sons, Jim (Geri) of Billings and Mike of Kennewick, Wash.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Eleanor Legare, Ruth Hatfield, Vera Juel and Beverly Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Max and Gene; a son, Rod; and five sisters. A vigil service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Smith Downtown Chapel, located at 925 S. 27 St. Funeral mass 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept., 8, at St. Pius X Parish, located at 18 Street West and Broadwater Avenue. Visitation can be made at noon Friday, Sept.7, at Smith Downtown Chapel, and prior to services. Cremation will follow funeral mass. 2012 Billings Gazette.
