Description	:	Patricia Mae Kielsmeier was born June 13, 1943 on a farm near Radcliffe, Iowa to Everett William and Verna Mae (Kuhfus) Kielsmeier. She attended grade school in Buckeye, received her high school education and was Valedictorian of the largest class to graduate from Radcliffe Community School in 1961. Read More	Patricia Mae Kielsmeier was born June 13, 1943 on a farm near Radcliffe, Iowa to Everett William and Verna Mae (Kuhfus) Kielsmeier. She attended grade school in Buckeye, received her high school education and was Valedictorian of the largest class to graduate from Radcliffe Community School in 1961. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Pat continued her education at Ellsworth Community College and graduated in 1963. Then she obtained a B.S. Degree from the University of Iowa in 1965 and in 1966 received her certification in Physical Therapy. Pat was employed several years at County General Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She continued her education and received a master's degree in public health at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Then she moved to Haslett, Michigan, and was employed by the State Department in Lansing as the assistant director of Prior Authorization for Michigan Medicaid. She also obtained another master's degree in public administration. After 10 years working for the State of Michigan, Pat moved to Albuquerque, NM and worked as a traveling physical therapist. When Pat returned to Iowa, she moved to Alden and continued to work as a physical therapist for many of the care centers and privately. Pat retired and lived in her home in Alden for many years, enjoying small town living with what the Alden community offered. Then in August 2021, due to her health declining she moved to her last residence in Ames to stay close to her sister and nephew. Pat was a member of the Alden Horizons and was former Co-President and volunteer of the Alden Food Pantry in Alden for many years. Pat found so much joy in helping others and her community. Pat was a very giving person and gave to many charities. Pat loved playing cards, especially five hundred, in Iowa Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her sister, Betty, nieces and nephews whom all enjoyed her good cooking. Pat passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Thomas of Ames, Iowa; nephews Joe (Lisa) Prochaska of Clear Lake, Iowa, Chris (Laura) Prochaska of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Matt (Teri) Prochaska of Ames, Iowa, Mike (Huw) Thomas of London, United Kingdom and niece Jean Ziesmer of Geneva, Illinois; along with great nieces and nephews and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law David Thomas.
