Pat was born on May 25, 1924, to John "Jack" and Marguerite (Hayden) Tyrrell. Pat graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1942, and attended Wenatchee Junior College and Washington State University. Read More	Wenatchee World - Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Patricia "Pat" Cockrum, 85, a lifelong resident of Wenatchee, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at her residence in the company of her loving husband. Pat was born on May 25, 1924, to John "Jack" and Marguerite (Hayden) Tyrrell. Pat graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1942, and attended Wenatchee Junior College and Washington State University. On September 20, 1946, Pat married Russell Anthony Beran. They had two children, Robert M. Beran and Barbara A. Beran. Russ died in September 1952, from polio. A few years later, Pat met Roy Cockrum and they were married on May 28, 1958. Pat and her two children joined Roy and his two boys, Gene R. Cockrum and Jeff L. Cockrum, on the ranch on Wheeler Hill Road. Together they had a daughter, Jenny. Pat loved the property on Wheeler Hill Road. She liked to tell the story of visiting that property when she was a young girl and went home and told her father that someday she would live there. Besides being the mother to five children and helping with the daily chores on the ranch, Pat worked for Dr. Donald Phillips for many years. When she retired from full time work, Pat worked part time for the Douglas County Auditor's office in East Wenatchee. After retiring from her paying jobs, Pat volunteered at Central Washington Hospital for more than 20 years. Pat loved helping people and it didn't matter if you were family, friend or a complete stranger, she would reach out to lend a helping hand. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by all who knew her. Pat is survived by her husband, Roy of Wenatchee; daughter, Barbara (Rone Zimmerman) of Wenatchee; son, Jeff (Donna) Cockrum of Wenatchee; son, Gene (Sharen) Cockrum of Republic; and daughter, Jenny (Rick) Couch of Wenatchee; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Beran; her parents; and her sister, Mary Jane Waterbury. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee, with Graveside Services to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Pat loved the lighted cross on the mountain top in Wenatchee and it was her wish to have the cross lit in her memory. Memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to: Light the Cross Fund at any Cashmere Valley Bank or to the Central Washington Hospital Foundation.
