(Deming) Blanchard. She graduated from Chariton Community High School in 1958 and completed one year of college at Parsons College in Fairfield. She was united in marriage to Loyed E. Deming OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, June 17, 2003 PATRICIA SUE SINGLETON Pat was born in Washington, D. C. Sept. 24, 1939, to Richard M. and Bertha E. (Deming) Blanchard. She graduated from Chariton Community High School in 1958 and completed one year of college at Parsons College in Fairfield. She was united in marriage to Loyed E. Singleton June 12, 1962 and to this union one daughter was born, Robin Linette. Pat had various careers throughout her life. She worked at the Ritz Theater as a cashier for many years. She did the books for G&L DX and later worked as Activity Director at the Chariton Manor. When her mother retired from Hy-Vee Headquarters as a Payroll Clerk in 1977, she took over the wonderful job of working weekends. She later was promoted and worked for Hy-Vee for over 20 years, retiring due to ill health. In 1998, her soulmate, whom she had briefly dated in 1957, came back into her life and she found much happiness with Laverne C. Hoover of Russell. Her father preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Robin and husband Mike Webb of Des Moines; her mother Bertha E. Blanchard of Chariton; sisters: Mickey and husband George Betz of Cedar Rapids; Sheila Blanchard of Dana Point, Calif. and Debby Randolph of Corydon; several nieces and nephews; and many friends who will dearly miss her. Funeral services were held Monday, June 16, 2003, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, with Pastor Gary DeGeest officiating. Musical selections for the service were "Amazing Grace," "Rainbow Connection," and "Volare." Serving as bearers were Leo Orwig, Skip Spoon, Mitch Chance, Allen Fry, Larry Chance, Max Malone, Roger Randolph, Jr. and George Betz. Honorary bearers were Murray Funk, Keith Deming and Roger Deming. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
