Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Billy Alfred Whelchel and the daughter of the late Kyle Vinesett and Zemrude Lanier Vinesett. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Oxford and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving are a brother, Jim Vinesett of Gaffney; a sister, Sue Childers and husband, Avon of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Eugene Vinesett. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Dr. Clyde Thomas and Reverend Sidney Norton officiating. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, S.C., 29342. The family will be at their respective homes.
