"The Herald" (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 7 January 1927: "Breezes from Elk Garden' - The funeral of Patrick Francis McNally, aged 63 years was held in St. Vincent's Catholic Church Friday morning 31 December 1926. Rev. William Jan of Keyser officiated. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport, Md. Mr. McNally who was a successful merchant, was a devout Catholic and president of the Holy Name Society of St. Vincent's Church. An active Democrat leader in politics and a man of high esteem in the community, being a life-long resident of this place. The deceased is survived by his widow and the following children, Miss Anna McNally of Cumberland, Md.; Miss Nellie McNally of Baltimore; Francis, Vincent and DeSales McNally, at home; two sisters, Miss Maggie of this place, and Mrs. Crowe of Minnesota. The out-of-town people who attended the funeral were Corporal Frank Quinn of Washington, D. C.; Joseph Quinn, of Clarksburg, W.Va.; Peer Mullen, Mrs. L. W. Vangilder, and Miss Leota Williams, Fairmont, W.Va.; Edward Mullen, Edward Fallon, Joseph Mullen, Piedmont, W.Va.; Mrs. Anna Moore, Mrs. Kate Wilson, Mrs. Frank Hiner, Edward Mullen, Miss Madaline Moore, Cumberland, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pritts, Kitzmiller, Md.; Edward White, Baltimore, Md. Those from here who attended the funeral at Westernport, besides the relatives were, Miss Anna Joyce, Leo Joyce, Felix Cannos, David Steel, Mrs. John Droppleman, Michael Conlon, John Fahey, Mrs. John Middleton. The floral offerings were many and beautiful."
