Pat John Rader was born March 17, 1962 in Hoven, SD to Urban and Clara (Arbach) Rader. He was the youngest of 6 boys born to this union, with no sisters to pick on. He was raised and educated in Hoven and attended St. Anthony's Grade School and Hoven High School, Class of 1980. Pat John Rader was born March 17, 1962 in Hoven, SD to Urban and Clara (Arbach) Rader. He was the youngest of 6 boys born to this union, with no sisters to pick on. He was raised and educated in Hoven and attended St. Anthony's Grade School and Hoven High School, Class of 1980. Throughout his adolescent years he participated in all the numerous activities and events that were presented to him. Pat made his parents and brothers proud by his many accomplishments, both big and small. He was a motivated self starter and was instilled at an early age with a strong Hoven work ethic. Pat was always ready to "put his nose to the grindstone" and get the job done. After high school Pat attended and graduated in 1984 from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion with a business degree. He worked during the summer months before college graduation at a retail store in Denver, CO under the watchful eye of his big brother, Mark. After graduation he continued building his business acumen by working at a couple retail stores in Minnesota; and worked several years for Shopko in Utah and Colorado. Each life experience and job opportunity gave Pat the desire, knowledge and skills to eventually start his own businesses. He started the next journey of his life by moving to Cincinnati, OH in 1995 to work with his brother Mark in the financial services business. After a one year internship with Mark, Pat started his first business in financial services in 1996; and then opened his second business in 1998. He owned and was actively involved in both businesses until his death. In 1999 he married Amy Burdsall and was divorced in 2002. They had no children. His step children were Jesse and Tirzah Vearil. Pat was a very kind and generous person and was always caring and considerate of his family and friends. He had a good circle of friends in Cincinnati as well as long time childhood friends. He was especially looking forward to coming back for Hoven's all school reunion in 2018. He loved and respected nature and enjoyed traveling and meeting people. Pat is survived by his five remaining "Rader Brothers". Mike, Aberdeen, SD; Gregg (Marty Panzer), Los Angeles, CA; Bill (Joann), Hoven; Stan, Milford, OH and Mark, Cincinnati, OH. Nephew, Denver Rader and nieces, Brittany (Jeff) Zweber and Jennifer (Bo) McCloud; 4 great nephews and 1 great niece. He is preceded in death by his mother, Clara, on December 12, 1984 and his father, Urban, on November 10, 2000. The wake service will be Friday, June 9th, 2017 at 7 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hoven. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 10 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Pat's cousin, Fr. John Rader, Celebrant, and Fr. Kevin Doyle, Concelebrant. Burial follows at the Church Cemetery. Organist will be Alice Simon and the Church Choir will sing "Here I Am, Lord", "On Eagle's Wings", "I am the Bread of Life", "Blest Are They", "Song of Farewell" and "You Are Mine". Offertory gift bearers will be Pat's nephew and nieces—Denver, Brittany and Jennifer. Eucharistic Minister will be Bob Keller, Mass server will Isaac Kaiser and lector will be Charles Simon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to St. Anthony's Church Foundation, PO Box 98, Hoven, SD 57450 or Hoven Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 4, Hoven, SD 57450.
