Read More	Globe Gazette Mason City, Iowa Friday, 22 April 1932 INJURIES FROM TRAIN ACCIDENT HERE ARE FATAL O'Donnell, switchman, is crushed between 2 cars Patrick O'Donnell, 50 years old, 232 Seventh Street Northeast, died at a local hospital about 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon as the result of injuries received when he was crushed between the drawbars of two cars on the Minneapolis and St. Louis switch track near the Decker and Sons Packing Plant shortly before noon Friday. He was a switchman for the road. Although his pelvis was crushed and one side was mangled by the bar, Mr. O'Donnell was conscious when taken to the hospital and talked with physicians and relatives. He was probably crossing the track to throw a rail, company employees said. The accident occurred as cars were being switched from the plant. The company maintains two switch tracks to the plant. Mr. O'Donnell had been employed by the company about eight years. He is survived by his wife and eight children, Phil, William, Margaret, John and Robert, all at home, Mrs. Alfred Bitter, Dubuque, Mrs. Earl Cornelius, 225 Twenty-sixth Street Southwest, and Joe, Mason City. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Hugh and James, both of Mason City; and three sisters, Mrs. Hannah Tenney, Dougherty, Mrs. L.D. King, 421 Twenty-seventh Street Southwest, and Anna Mae O'Donnell, 421 Twenty-seventh Street Southwest. Mr. O'Donnell was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. O'Donnell, 232 Seventh Street Northeast, who died as a result of a railroad accident last week, were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church Monday forenoon. The Rev. R.P. Murphy said mass. Burial was at Dougherty.
