Wolfe, of DeWitt, on Friday afternoon, from Vail, Crawford County, Iowa, announcing the death at that place, that morning, of Patrick Lawlor, an early settler of this county, and long a resident of Washington Twp, which he represented in the Board of Supervisors for a number of years. Mr. Lawlor was born in Queen's County, Ireland, March 16, 1808. He came thence to Pennsylvania in 1846 and to this county, at DeWitt in 1849. There he remained 2 years, and then settled in Washington Twp., engaging in extensive farming. His first wife was Elizabeth Reed, a native of Ireland, who died in June, 1862. They had ten children, six sons and four daughters. Mr. Lawler, afterwards, married a Miss Margaret Lawler, also a native of Ireland. A few years ago, he removed to Vail, where he has since resided. The remains of Mr. Lawlor were brought to DeWitt early on Sunday morning, and were taken to St. Patrick's Church, where the funeral services were held, with interment at the cemetery at that place. Mr. Lawlor was an excellent man and a useful and faithful citizen, and had the respect of all within his acquaintance. Patrick Lawlor married Elizabeth Reed Feb. 22, 1841 in Durrow Parish, County Queens, Ireland. She was born in 1822 and died June 28, 1862. Buried at Villa Nova Cem. Elizabeth, born circa 1849, Iowa, became Sister Mary 5. Mary , born Feb. 13, 1851, Iowa, died March 23, 1932, Clinton County, married John J. McGarry 6. Margaret, born 1854, Iowa, died Aug. 16, 1916, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, married Dr. William Fitzgerald 7. Theresa, born Dec. 24, 1855, Iowa, died July 18, 1943, Omaha, Nebraska, married Joseph P. Burke 8. Simon C., born July 4, 1857, Iowa, died Dec. 21, 1921, Clinton County, married Evaline "Eva" Hogarty 9. William V., born 1859, died Nov. 23, 1910, Butte, Montana, married Margaret Morris (!st), married Elizabeth McElhatton (2nd) 10. Edward Thomas, born 1860, Iowa, died Dec. 18, 1934 at Faith, Meade Co., S. Dakota, married Anna Drennan Patrick Lawlor married 2nd, Margaret Lawler on April 9, 1864, in Clinton County. She was born in 1828 and died March 23, 1893.
