Description	:	“The Herald” (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 25 December 1908: Patrick O'Connor died last Sunday (20 Dec 1908) at his home in Piedmont, aged 68 years. Mr.O'Connor was an old and well known citizen of this town, and while he had his faults, he was a quick willed, intelligent man and had a host of friends. Read More	“The Herald” (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 25 December 1908: Patrick O'Connor died last Sunday (20 Dec 1908) at his home in Piedmont, aged 68 years. Mr.O'Connor was an old and well known citizen of this town, and while he had his faults, he was a quick willed, intelligent man and had a host of friends. He was born in County Cork, Ireland, but came to this country as a youth and settled in Piedmont, marrying Miss Anna Mulvey in 1869. He was a shoemaker by trade and for many years worked at it here. During the Civil War, he served as a corporal in Company B, 39th Illinois Volunteer Infantry,and was honorably discharged by reason of expiration of term of service, having served three years and participated in several of the great battles of the War. When mustered out, Mr. O'Connor returned to his shoemaker trade. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Thomas V. Dawson and Patrick Dawson; and three daughters, Mrs. M. A. Carney, Mrs. J. E. Dawson and Miss Nellie Dawson. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning (22 Dec 1908). A Requiem Mass was sung in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, and interment was made in St. Peter's Cemetery." Married Anna Mulvey, of Watertown, N. Y., 2 August 1869 in this church."
