Harper, aged 72 years, 11 months and 16 days. The subject of the above notice was born in Muskingum county, Ohio, Feb. 17, 1818. He emigrated to Lee County, Iowa in 1840, and was married to Eliza A Steadman, March 18, 1842, who was called away by death Sept. 7, 1855. Read More	HARPER--On Monday, Feb. 2, 1891; At his residence in Folker township, Clark Co., Missouri; of chronic diarrhea and complicated liver affections; Patterson D. Harper, aged 72 years, 11 months and 16 days. The subject of the above notice was born in Muskingum county, Ohio, Feb. 17, 1818. He emigrated to Lee County, Iowa in 1840, and was married to Eliza A Steadman, March 18, 1842, who was called away by death Sept. 7, 1855. He was again married March 29, 1858 [1 Apr 1857], to Sarah C. Goodrich who still survives him. By the first marriage 7 children were born, five sons and two daughters, all of whom have gone before him, into the "beyond" save one daughter. By his second marriage there were 11 children born unto them; four sons and seven daughters, all of whom are living save two daughters, who have gone before. Mr. Harper removed from Lee county Iowa, to Clark county, Missouri, in 2852 [sic], where he has since resided, until called from labor to reward. Patterson D. Harper enlisted June 17, 1861, in Co, H. 21st Reg't. Mo. Vol. Inft., and was honorably discharged Dec. 5, 1864, thus serving his country in arms 3 years, 5 months and 17 days. To his late companions in arms, he was at all times the courteous, brave and faithful soldier, ever ready to minister to the wants of a comrade in distress. In civil life, and honest and upright citizen whose death will be mourned by his numerous friends and acquaintances. The family of the deceased have the deep sympathy of their many friends in this their hour of grief. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the family residence, from whence the remains were escorted by army comrades, followed by a large concourse of friends to the Blackledge cemetery, where neatly and impressively laid away to await the summons from the great commander of the army of our Lord in the resurrection morn.
