Born Oct. 13, 1923, in Defiance County, he was the son of the late Howard and Mae (Durham) Hammon. On June 19, 1949, he married Kathleen Shibler, who survives. Hammon was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and served as the church elder, treasurer, Sunday school treasurer and various other offices. Read More	Paul Berdean Hammon, 81, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, of Napoleon, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence. Born Oct. 13, 1923, in Defiance County, he was the son of the late Howard and Mae (Durham) Hammon. On June 19, 1949, he married Kathleen Shibler, who survives. Hammon was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and served as the church elder, treasurer, Sunday school treasurer and various other offices. He was a house-to-house milk deliveryman and salesman for Napoleon Creamery for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a corporal in the 90th Infantry Division in France, Luxemburg, Germany and Czechoslovakia and received a Purple Heart for wounds in Belgium. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mavis Skinner and Marian Hammon; and a brother, Melvin Hammon. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Rev. Norm Koy, Rev. Peter Marcis and Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens, rural Defiance, where military honors will be accorded by the Napoleon military posts. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Snyder Wesche Funeral Home and Crematories, Napoleon, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, the St. Paul Lutheran School Library or Hospice of Henry County
