The funeral will be Monday for Paul Daniel Boger, 86, who died Friday (Sept. 28, 2001) at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks after a brief illness.Born Aug. 25, 1915, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Boger was a son of the late Martin Luther and Emma Magdalene Miller Boger. He attended Cabarrus County Schools and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. Mr. Boger was a retired production manager for Carolina Southern Processing in Gastonia. He belonged to St. Luke's United Church of Christ, its adult Sunday School class, the Men's Brotherhood and was named Elder Emeritus of the church consistory. Mr. Boger also belonged to the Salisbury Civitan Club, VFW Post 3006, Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, Granite Quarry Senior Citizens and was a former member and lieutenant governor for the Clover, S.C., Optimist Club. His wife, Ufah Bailey Boger, preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1994. Survivors include son Paul D. Boger Jr., Clover, S.C.; daughter Martha Shrewsbury, Odd, W.Va.; sisters Maude Hill, Gold Hill, and Elsie Shaver, Salisbury; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Services: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Luke's United Church of Christ, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Boggs, pastor. Burial, church cemetery. Visitation: 5:30-7 p.m. today, Lyerly Funeral Home.
