Description	:	Paul Deavers, 85, of Stanley, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Winchester. Mr. Deavers was born Sept. 15, 1926, and was a son of the late Joseph Ray and Alice Moody Taylor Deavers. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He started working for Foltz's Milling Co. a few years before moving to Page Co-op Farm Bureau, where he became assistant manager. After 50 years, he retired and worked for Valley Protein a while after retirement. He married the former Illdis Marie Housden on Dec. 30, 1950, who survives. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Dave Deavers, Willie Lee Deavers, Annie Turner and Dorothy Spencer. The Rev. Charles Turner will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Calvary Independent Brethren Church, where visitation will be from 6 p.m. -9 p.m. Monday, April 30. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray. Arrangements are by Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
