Description	:	LAUREL — Paul Dolechek, 96, of Laurel, passed away Aug. 15, 2010, at the Sapphire Suites in Billings. He was born the third of nine children to Max and Mary Dolechek on the family farm near Dickinson, N.D. He grew up and attended school near Dickinson. He married Barbara Mayer Filipi on Feb. 25, 1935. They lived in Dickinson for a few years, then Anaconda for one year, finally settling in Laurel, where they raised their family. Read More	LAUREL — Paul Dolechek, 96, of Laurel, passed away Aug. 15, 2010, at the Sapphire Suites in Billings. He was born the third of nine children to Max and Mary Dolechek on the family farm near Dickinson, N.D. He grew up and attended school near Dickinson. He married Barbara Mayer Filipi on Feb. 25, 1935. They lived in Dickinson for a few years, then Anaconda for one year, finally settling in Laurel, where they raised their family. Paul was a carman for the Northern Pacific Railroad for 30 years, retiring at the age of 60. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and camping. He loved old time music and was an excellent dancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; son Elmer; grandson Daryl Dolechek; and his longtime friend, Edith Bingaman; parents, three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by a daughter, Arvella (Jim) Emineth of Laurel; stepdaughter Caroline (Frank) Smith of Missoula; daughter-in-law Marlene Dolechek of Laurel; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Tender Nest in Laurel, especially Karen and Susan for the loving and compassionate care given to him the past five years. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Laurel, with interment in the Laurel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
