Members of the family reported that the cause of death had not officially be determined. Mr. Stone was born April 7, 1880, south of Roann, the son of Frank Stone and Jessie (McCoy) Stone, and was a life resident of Wabash County. He was married April 26, 1911, at Urbana to Hazel Amber. His college training was obtained at the State Normal School in Terre Haute and Manchester College, from which he received his degree.He served as a member of the Central High School faculty, North Manchester, before accepting the principalship of Linlawn. During the generation that he headed Linlawn, Dr. Stone supervised the school in a kindly and efficient manner and was highly respected by all who knew him. In addition to his busy life as an educator, Dr. Stone also found time to serve the Lord in the capacity of minister of the Roann and Silver Creek Christian churches. He relinquished his preaching, however, after his illness several years ago. Dr. Stone also formerly acted as a field worker for Manchester College. The body was to be returned to the family residence at 583 Columbus Street from the Hoover Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.Funeral services will be conducted in the Christian Church, of which he was a faithful member and where he served as an elder for a number of years, at 10:30 AM Friday morning with Rev. Fred Wolff, pastor, assisted by Dr. Otho Winger, President-Emeritus of Manchester College, officiating. Survivors include the widow and seven children: Rev. Robert Lowell Stone, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Ohio, Mrs. Hazel Denney of Montmorenci, Ind., Eugene Stone, teach in the Chester Township High School, Miss Mary Stone, teacher in the Urbana School, Betty Stone, attending Manchester College, and Miriam and Barbara Ann Stone at home. Other survivors include two grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. George Troxel, Thomas Stone, Mrs. Fred Shellenbarger, Ralph Stone, Herbert Stone, and James Stone.
