Description	:	Paul Dwight Jones, age 87 of Athens died Thursday morning, May 28, 2015 at his home. Born June 1, 1927 in Athens, he was the son of the late Evert Merchant & Golda Florence Lones Jones. He was a graduate of Ames Bern High School and retired from the McBee Printing Co. He was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church, Athens and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Read More	Paul Dwight Jones, age 87 of Athens died Thursday morning, May 28, 2015 at his home. Born June 1, 1927 in Athens, he was the son of the late Evert Merchant & Golda Florence Lones Jones. He was a graduate of Ames Bern High School and retired from the McBee Printing Co. He was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church, Athens and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Morehead Jones; two daughters- Deborah (Steve) Pearson of Boca Raton, FL and Carolyn (John) Robinson of Dallas, TX; a son, Steven (Lorraine) Jones of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren- Sara Pearson (Scott) Dennis, Alan Pearson, Colin Jones, Seth Jones, Lee Robinson, Ben Robinson and Matt Robinson; three great grandchildren- Trent, Ryder and Maci Dennis; three brothers- Charles Jones of Highland, CA, Bill (Linda) Jones of Zanesville and Larry (Charlotte) Jones of Reynoldsburg; and a brother in law, George Williams of The Plains. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Ila Williams. Funeral service will be conducted Monday 11:00 a.m at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Robert Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Federal Valley Cemetery, Ames Township. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion, VFW Post 3477 and VFW Post 9893 Honor Guards at the cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to Appalachian Community Hospice for the wonderful care Paul received. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richland United Methodist Church, 60 Pomeroy Rd., Athens, Ohio 45701.
