LaFrance, 1016 Ave C, who came to North Dakota when it was still a part of Dakota Territory, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital. he was 65 years old. Death ended a long illness. Mr. LaFrance had been in the hospital since May 11. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's pro-cathedral, with Rev. Robert A Freehan in charge. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Mr. LaFrance was born May 20, 1874, at Pembroke, Ont., and came to Rolette county in 1883. Before moving to Bismarck in 1915, Mr. LaFrance operated a furniture and undertaking establishment in Rolla. Later, until 1929, he traveled for the International Harvester and Advance Rumley threshing machine companies. On Oct 31, 1898, Mr. LaFrance married Elizabeth McFadden. He leaves, besides his widow, three children, Everett and Genevieve, Bismarck, and Mark, Watertown, S.D.. Three other children, Leo, Bernard, and Adrian, are dead. Mr. LaFrance was a member of the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree, the Modern Woodmen and the AOUW. The body is at the Webb chapel.
