Description	:	Paul Edward Black, 84, of Ottumwa, died at 8:28 p.m. March 8, 2019 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born July 7, 1934 in Agency to Cecil and Henrietta Porter Black. He married Patricia Daniels May 29, 1954 and she preceded him in death August 8, 2011. A graduate of Agency High School, Paul co-owned and operated Black’s Tire for 35 years. He married Patricia Daniels May 29, 1954 and she preceded him in death August 8, 2011. A graduate of Agency High School, Paul co-owned and operated Black’s Tire for 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #21 A.F. & A.M., KAABA Shrine, Good Sams Camping Club, Jaycees, and the Rotary Club of Ottumwa. He loved to travel, spending 29 winters in Florida and enjoyed tracking the stock market. Surviving is a daughter, Teresa (Mike) Hendren of Columbia, MO; two sons, Tom (Pam) Black of Osage Beach, MO and Travis (Lisa) Black of Waukee; four grandchildren, Nichole (Thomas) Barber, Kelsey (Cody) McMichael, Emily Black and Justin Black; 6 great grandchildren, Mylee, Brynlee, Macklin, Monroe, Karlee and Malone; a sister, Wilma (Bill) Steele of Agency; and a special friend, Patty Boitnott. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arnold Black; two sisters, Thelma Dimmitt and his twin, Pauline Swofford. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Disburg officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or American Cancer Society.
