Description	:	Paul Edward Damberger, 88, of Minot, died Tuesday June 24, 2008 at his home. Paul was born April 21, 1920, in Herreid, SD the son of Joseph and Mary (Dreps) Damberger. He was raised and attended school in Herreid, and went on to graduate from Notre Dame College in South Dakota. Read More	Paul Edward Damberger, 88, of Minot, died Tuesday June 24, 2008 at his home. Paul was born April 21, 1920, in Herreid, SD the son of Joseph and Mary (Dreps) Damberger. He was raised and attended school in Herreid, and went on to graduate from Notre Dame College in South Dakota. He lived briefly in St. Paul, MN before returning to South Dakota to teach math and coach football and basketball. On June 25, 1946, he married Veronica "Fronie" Stellflug at Herreid. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Lansford, then Garrison where they owned a restaurant and bar during the construction of the Garrison Dam before moving to Minot. His considerable abilities as a salesman were demonstrated during his years of employment with the Heinz Company and Ed Philips and Sons Company from which he received national recognition for superior sales. Paul's propensity for business and strong work ethic ultimately led him to become a successful business owner. Some of the notable businesses Paul owned were Oak Park Liquors and the Hacienda Lounge. He also was a gentleman farmer owning acreage in central North Dakota. Being an entrepreneur was his passion, but in his leisure time he enjoyed watching his two favorite professional teams, the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Active within the Minot community, Paul was a charter member of Little Flower Catholic Church, a member of the Elks, Eagles, and Moose Lodges. He was honored as a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Paul's Catholic faith was an integral part of his daily life. He was very active with the North Dakota Right to Life Association and a major benefactor in the construction of the activity center at Bishop Ryan High School. His considerable support of the Minot Catholic Schools garnered him an apostolic blessing from the Holy Father Pope John Paul II. Paul and Fronie had four daughters. The legacy he instilled with his daughters was the value of an education, a strong work ethic, and the power of prayer. Paul's wife Fronie passed away June 17, 2000. He is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws, Corrine and Jerry Grochowski of Winona, MN, Marian and Gayle Himmerick of Minot, Rita Damberger and Duane Haugstad of Minot; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Marcella O'Donald of Mobridge, SD. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Damberger; wife, Fronie; daughter Kathleen Vivaldelli; twin grandsons, Joseph and James Himmerick; sister Anna Hahn; brothers, William and Joseph Damberger. Funeral Service: Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2008, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, with the vigil prayer service Friday at 8:00 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.
