Description	:	Paul Edward Zitzlsperger, our very dear husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013. He was a true gift from God to our entire family, living to 90 years of age. Paul was born on Oct. 9, 1922, to Matilda (Rosauer) and John L. Zitzlsperger in Gray, Iowa. Read More	Paul Edward Zitzlsperger, our very dear husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013. He was a true gift from God to our entire family, living to 90 years of age. Paul was born on Oct. 9, 1922, to Matilda (Rosauer) and John L. Zitzlsperger in Gray, Iowa. He grew up in the Denison, Iowa, area. Paul married his beloved wife, Alice Krueger Zitzlsperger, on Sept. 26, 1945. They have been married for a very special 67 years. He proudly raised six children, five girls and one son, which were the "light of his life." Paul was living in their home in Billings with his wife and was independent until shortly before his death. Paul farmed and raised livestock outside of Denison, Iowa, for more than 30 years. He was exceptionally talented, raising lambs garnering top prices on the Omaha and New York kosher meat markets. Paul retired from farming in 1966 and moved with his wife and six children to Montana, where he went on to own a grocery store, a JP Post and lumber in Geyser, Mont. He later moved from Geyser to Laurel in 1978 and was in the trucking business for a number of years. During this time, he constructed three of his homes in the Laurel area with the support of his wife and son. He moved to Billings in 2003. Paul was always focused, working to make a life and home for his family, but eventually in his later years he enjoyed reconditioning John Deere tractors for resale. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marvin (Red), Son: John Paul , grandson Scott Coulter, and son-in-law Bill Grantier. Paul is survived by his wife, Alice; and his five daughters, Elaine Coulter (James Sutton) of Lewistown, Susan Lander Sundberg (Chris) of Issaquah, Wash., Carol Tompkins (Larry) of Billings, Cindy Donahoe (Tim) of Billings, Mary Grantier-Smart (Jon) of Lincoln, Mont.; 13 amazing grandchildren; and four great-children. Paul's funeral services will be at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in St. Bernard's Hall. Paul lived his final three weeks at Horizon Hospice Home, where he received incredibly compassionate and outstanding care, which was so appreciated by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RiverStone Hospice or Billings Food Bank. We will miss his smile, his laugh and especially his love and concern for us so very much.
