Description	:	Paul Edwin Prichard was born on Sept. 26, 1917, on a farm near Hornick to Jay and Emily (Melott) Prichard. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa at the age of 96. Paul grew up in the Hornick area with four brothers and four sisters. He moved to Mapleton, where he... Read More	Paul Edwin Prichard was born on Sept. 26, 1917, on a farm near Hornick to Jay and Emily (Melott) Prichard. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa at the age of 96. Paul grew up in the Hornick area with four brothers and four sisters. He graduated from Hornick High School. Paul married Alma Prichard Lee and they raised their three children – Beverly, Ray, and Ken – on a farm near Rodney. They divorced and he married Phyllis Price. He moved to Mapleton, where he and Phyllis ran a business called Phyl's Folly. Paul had resided the past year at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton. Paul enjoyed many years of traveling to bowling tournaments, golfing in the Mapleton Golf League and fishing. A great joy for him was the annual Montana fishing trips with his brothers and nephews. His last trips were at age 91 and 92. From age 75 to 85, Paul worked five days a week for the Prichard Hay Co. in Mapleton owned by his brother and then J.D. Wiggs. He enjoyed that ten years of employment when he could no longer bowl and golf. Paul is survived by his son, Ray (Marilyn) Prichard of Council Bluffs; daughter, Beverly (Dennis) Metcalf of Frisco, Texas; Phyllis' children: Larry (Kathy) Price of Mapleton, and Gayle Gibson of Mapleton; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Parker of Orange, Calif., and one brother, Stewart (Justine) Prichard of Hornick; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; three brothers; one brother in infancy; one son, Kenneth Prichard; wife, Phyllis Prichard and her son, Gary Price. Memorial services were 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, at Rodney United Church of Christ in Rodney with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. Music for the service included congregational hymns: "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross" with Ardith Armour serving as organist and Myron Armour and Mark Till serving as song leaders. Honorary pallbearers were Paul's grandchildren. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial of the cremains took place prior to the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mapleton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Rodney United Church of Christ.
