Born Nov. 12, 1926, in West Point, he was the son of Henry A. and Catherine A. Strunk Bohnenkamp. On June 14, 1947, he married L. Yvonne Williams in Fort Madison. Born Nov. 12, 1926, in West Point, he was the son of Henry A. and Catherine A. Strunk Bohnenkamp. On June 14, 1947, he married L. Yvonne Williams in Fort Madison. Mr. Bohnenkamp worked for 37 years as a lab technician at DuPont Co. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Fort Madison in 1944. He served as a paratrooper in the Army during World War II. He was a member of SS. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Madison and the Circle Square B Promenaders in Wever. He enjoyed fishing, the river, playing pool at Newberry Center and his Wednesday card club. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Bohnenkamp and Gerald Bohnenkamp, both of Fort Madison; four daughters, Karen Wilmesmeier of Bonaparte, Gwen Kiser of Keokuk, Ange Stambaugh of Lomax, Ill., and Lucy Peterson of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Ballinger of Niota, Ill., and LaVerne Kious of Fort Madison; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one brother in infancy and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at SS. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church. The body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mr. Bohnenkamp will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at SS. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Troy Richmond officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Soldiers' Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for SS. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church.
