He was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Randolph County to Gail and Grace Bowman Pugh. Paul was a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Lee Modlin Pugh. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Sue Marshall and husband Bobby of Rural Hall, and a sister, Dot Ferguson of Asheboro.
