Paul was born on December 30, 1933 in Harvard, Nebraska to Victor Paul and Meta Magdalene (wieland) Grosshans. He grew up in Harvard, Hastings, Giltner, Superior, Grand Island and Central City, graduating from Central City High School in 1951. He continued his education at General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. Paul was united in marriage to Delores C Bergholz on June 27, 1954 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Central City. Paul owned and operated Grosshans Inc. in Central City and Grosshans International Inc in Aurora. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Central City. He was a charter member of the Merrick County Ag and Industrial Corporation, and served on the Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital Board. Other board and activities Paul was involved with include the Husker Harvest Board since it's inception, Ag Institute of Nebraska Board, UNL Presidents Advisory Council, Nebraska Air National Guard Advisory council, USS Nebraska Submarine Club, a member of AG Ambassadors, Nebraska Diplomats, UNL Beef Club, UNL Wheel Club, Fraternal Order of Mason's and the Hastings Order of Shriners. In addition to the various clubs and board activities, Paul was passionate about the Nebraska Husker football team as well as boating with family and friends on Willow Bend Lake, where he resided. His absence will be felt by his family and many friends. Survivors include his wife Delores Grosshans of Central City, NE, two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Jeanne Grosshans of Central City, NE; and Kris and Barbara Grosshans of Clarendon Hills, IL, a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Lyons of Marquette, NE, eight Grandchildren, Katie Grosshans of Omaha, NE; Lisa Grosshans of Omaha, NE; Elliot Grosshans of Central City, NE; Molly Lyons of Lincoln, NE; Kenzie Lyons of Marquette, NE and Kerry Clark and Cole Grosshans all of Clarendon Hill, IL, and a sister Marlene Stoltenberg of Knoxville, TN. His parents and a brother Thomas Grosshans preceded him in death. Clay County News January 22, 2009
