He second marriage was to Alice Fleet, who was good friends with her sister-in-law, Myrtice, his younger sister. Interestingly, Aunt Myrtice had married Uncle Paul's first wife's (Mildred Morley's) brother. Interestingly, Aunt Myrtice had married Uncle Paul's first wife's (Mildred Morley's) brother. In 1939 Uncle Paula and Aunt Mildred gave a Bible to his mother, Josephine which was the most prized possession she had, according to her own inscription in the Bible - which survives to this day. Uncle Paul served in the Navy during World War II. He was a Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the US Naval Reserve. Uncle Paul was murdered around 4am on March 15, 1970 by a teenage boy who lived next door. The boy, who I heard was about sixteen, had taken LSD. He apparently was having a bad experience on it, and came out into Uncle Paul's yard with a baseball bat. Apparently there was quite a commotion raised, and Uncle Paul tried to help. Unfortunately, he was beaten to death, suffering severe brain trauma. Ironically, the last picture I have of him arrived after his death. He bears a striking resemblance to his older brother, John Henry Lammons (b. 1909; died 1991 - interned Pinkston Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL, Duval County). In this rare picture he is sitting in front of a large floor model television set opening Christmas presents. Who would have known it would be his last Christmas - or picture? I am told the boy who killed him served only a short prison term.
