Description	:	Funeral services for Paul Jacob, 92, of Bloomfield, were on Wednesday, July 20, 1994 at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Christ Memorial in Bloomfield. Reverend Gary Aten officiated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton. Masonic graveside rites were given by Masonic Lodge #218 of Bloomfield. He died Sunday, July 17, 1994 at his home in Bloomfield. Paul Jacob, son of Samuel and Suzanne (Bohren) Jacob, was born March 18, 1902 at Winnetoon, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm near Winnetoon. On December 19, 1923, he married Lucille Sufficool. Three daughters were born to them, LaVonne Eileen, Betty Lou and Donna Lee. The couple lived in the rural Center and Bloomfield area until 1969, when they retired to Bloomfield. Mrs. Jacob died April 26, 1994. In December 1993 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and were presented the Admiralship of the Nebraska Navy by Governor Nelson. In 1977 Paul enjoyed a trip with his son-in-law to Switzerland, the homeland of his parents and visited with many aunts and uncles there. Paul was a member of Christ Methodist Church in Bloomfield and was involved in many church and community activities. He served as director of Cedar-Knox REA for six years. He served on the county fair board, school board and soil conservation organization. He was a member of International Order of Odd Fellows and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include daughters and spouses, Betty and Alton Peters and Donna and Don Friedrichsen, all of Lincoln; son-in-law, Robert Peters of Creighton; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille, daughter, LaVonne and sisters, Emma Berger and Ida Ellerbruch.
