Description	:	Paul Jay Elliott, age 67, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of Paul C. and Bena (Uhlenhopp) Elliott on May 17, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Aplington High School in 1967. Paul accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on April 1, 1973. On May 11, 1968, Paul was united in marriage with Nancy Jean Cartwright at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wellsburg, Iowa. Read More	Paul Jay Elliott, age 67, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of Paul C. and Bena (Uhlenhopp) Elliott on May 17, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Aplington High School in 1967. Paul accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on April 1, 1973. On May 11, 1968, Paul was united in marriage with Nancy Jean Cartwright at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wellsburg, Iowa. The first three years of their married life, they lived in the Wellsburg area. Paul worked at Plastronics in Grundy Center, Iowa. Paul and Nancy moved north of Parkersburg, then to the Aplington area. Paul was a truck driver for Robert Dean Trucking and Panther Transport at Omega Cabinets. Paul and Nancy had also owned and operated Elliott’s Upholstery Shop and the Village Motel in Aplington. Paul was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he served as a board member. He loved fishing, riding on the bike trails and sitting on the front porch visiting with friends. Paul’s greatest joy was spending time with all his family. He will be remembered for his happy personality, his positive attitude and his faith and devotion to his Lord and Savior. Paul died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Maple Manor Village in Aplington of complications of prostate cancer. Paul is preceded in death by his parents. Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; three children, Angela (Kevin Davis) Leslie of Shambaugh, Iowa, Kenneth (Angie) Elliott of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Jodi (Damond Beal) Elliott of Austinville; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2017, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 4421 Hudson Road in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with burial at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery in Aplington. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel in Aplington, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
