Description	:	Paul Jerome Reis from Early was born May 2, 1924 in Silver Creek Township, Ida County, Iowa (Battle Creek) to George and Mary (Dahm) Reis. He was baptized and confirmed Catholic and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. Paul attended school through the eighth grade and later worked as a farm hand until joining the Army in 1945. Upon his discharge, he co-founded Reis Brothers Garage, which is still in operation. Read More	Paul Jerome Reis from Early was born May 2, 1924 in Silver Creek Township, Ida County, Iowa (Battle Creek) to George and Mary (Dahm) Reis. He was baptized and confirmed Catholic and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. Paul attended school through the eighth grade and later worked as a farm hand until joining the Army in 1945. Upon his discharge, he co-founded Reis Brothers Garage, which is still in operation. Paul was employed at Reis Bros. Garage, Early Welding, and Crestland Community Schools. Paul was a member of the American Legion and the Volunteer Fire Department in Early. His hobbies included gardening, hunting and fishing. On January 21, 1961 he was united in marriage to Carol Carnes at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They lived in Early and to this marriage six children were born. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John and sister, Grace. He is survived by his wife, Carol; six children, Connie and husband David Jensen of Portsmouth, la; Gail and husband Dr. Dennis Drey of Albuquerque, NM; Robert and wife Nancy Reis of Lee's Summitt, Mo.; Mary Reis and friend, Dr. Dennis Weaver of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Timothy and wife Laura Reis of Lee's Summitt, Mo.; and Mark and wife Sara Reis of Grain Valley, Mo.; six grandchildren: Tara and her husband Brian Bork; Ryan Jensen, Scott and Heather Drey, Travis and Rachel Reis; two brothers and their wives: Herb and June Reis of Early; and Duane Luchtel of Grain Valley, Mo.; Florence and Wayne Cook of Stuart; Barbara and Cy Neiland of Newell; and Charlotte and Russ Latta of Ames and his mother-in-law, Helen Carnes of Early, and his many special "little people."
