Description	:	Paul Jon Kaiser, 83, of Fleming, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in Loveland. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow celebrating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Paul was born on Sept. 26, 1927, in Sterling to Alex J. and Anna Marie (Hergenreter) Kaiser. Paul was raised and attended school in the Crook area where he completed the 11th grade. Paul married Shirley Jean (Dick) Burkholder at Bolivar, Mo., on April 26, 1952, and they would have been married for 59 years in April. Paul went into the U.S. Army in February 1952, served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1954 as a Corporal. The couple farmed until 1970 and at that time they purchased Crook Grocery where Paul was known far and wide for his German sausage and Rocky Mountain Oysters. In the early `90s they purchased Fleming Supers. Paul retired in 2002 and continued to live in the Fleming community. Paul was very active as a Little League baseball coach when his family was young and at the Crook VFW as a Quarter Master and Commander for 20 years. Early hobbies were golf and bowling and in retirement watching baseball, football and basketball on TV. His greatest joys came from his family; his wife, four children, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Paul is survived by is his spouse, Shirley Kaiser of Fleming; sons, Larry Burkholder and wife Phyllis of Sterling, Mike Burkholder and special friend Alana Johnson of Brush, Paul Kaiser Jr. and wife Janet of Crook; daughter, Gena Kinoshita and husband Monty of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Greg Burkholder and wife Karen of Sterling, Lynelle Nelson of Denver, Tyler Burkholder and wife Bobbi of Sidney, Neb., Brandi Bailey and husband Jeremy of Julesburg, Laura Knode and husband Tyler of Haxtun, Kristin Hernandez and husband Marty of Illiff, Kurt Kaiser and wife Sarah of Sidney and Troy Kinoshita and Chas of Sedgwick; great-grandchildren, Shaylyn, Austin and Brock Burkholder, Libby Nelson, Boone and Bodie Burkholder, Shawn, Maggie and Porter Bailey, Dawson and Owen Knode, Ava and Mason Hernandez and Koleman, Keian and Kale Kaiser and Alexa Kinoshita; sister, Lorraine McKay and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Anna Marie Kaiser; brothers, Alex Kaiser Jr., Cliff Kaiser and Bob Kaiser; sisters, Mary Schmidtline, Ann Eiguren, Rose Larson and Eve Sethler.
