Born April 30, 1902, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph S. Collins and Alice Mae (Myers) Collins. Born April 30, 1902, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph S. Collins and Alice Mae (Myers) Collins. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Taylor) Collins, who died on March 19, 1981. Mr. Collins was a retired clerk with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Cumberland. He was a member of East Gate Lodge 216, AF & AM; Scottish Rite Bodies of Cumberland; Ali Ghan Shrine Temple; Henry Hart Post 1411 VFW; and Transportation and Communication International Union. He was a Golden Age Eagle with Cumberland Eagles Aerie 245, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the Salvation Army. Mr. Collins was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold W. Crabtree officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Military graveside services will be accorded by various veterans organizations.
