He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and worked at Magnavox in Fort Wayne for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke and member of Roanoke American Legion Post #160. He was an accomplished roller skater, known for his beautiful gardens, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and playing the harmonica and home organ. He was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke and member of Roanoke American Legion Post #160. He was an accomplished roller skater, known for his beautiful gardens, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and playing the harmonica and home organ. Paul was born November 27, 1930 in Sims, the son of Earnest and Ida Mae (Pettit) Nine. On February 12, 1955 he married his beloved wife of 60 years Jeanette Topp at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke. She survives in Huntington. Also surviving are 3 sons Daniel Nine of Huntington, Rick (Sandy) Nine of Roanoke, Jack (Jamie) Nine of Huntington, 2 daughters Jill (John) Truitt of Fort Wayne and Lisa (Tommy) Harrell of Huntington, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a sister Laura (Harold) Monnot of Peru, and 2 brothers John (Delores) Nine of Roanoke and Ernest (Judy) Nine of Columbia City. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Woodrow Nine, Glen Nine and Myron Nine and 2 sisters Dorothy Quade and Juanita Houser. Visitation will be held Monday April 6 from 12:30-2:30 pm preceding the 2:30 pm funeral service at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dale Bauman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Roanoke, with Roanoke American Legion Post #160 providing graveside military honors.
