Description	:	Funeral services for Paul Pogany, 56, were in TL Methodist with Rev John Setterlund of Timber Lake and the Rev Ernest Hirrschoff of Pierre officiating. Leo Meginness of Isabel sang "The Old Rugged Cross" with Mrs Vern Oliver as accompanist. Interment was in TL cemetery. Graveside Masonic rites were by TL Lodge. Casketbearers: Dale Scott and Martin Erickson of TL, Melvin Michelson of Aberdeen, Herman Holm of Isabel, Walter J Fillmore and Francis Pyncheon of Pierre. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pogany did unexpectly from a heart attack at his home in Erie, CO May 6. He was born Aug 30, 1913, at Barton, OH, the son of Joe and Caroline Pogany. His early years were spent at Barton, attending schools there, and at St Clairville. In 1931 he moved with his parents to Isabel where he worked with his father and brothers operating the Isabel Coal Company. He married Laura Schemp Jan 28, 1935, in TL. They made their home in Isabel where Mr. Pogany worked for the State Highway Department. In 1942 they moved to Seattle, WA, where he worked for Boeing Aircraft. Returning to SD in 1947 he operated the Mobil Service Station in TL until 1954 when they moved to Pierre to operate another gas station. In 1957, because of health reasons, he sold the station in Pierre and worked for the State Department of Revenue. In 1968 he and Mrs. Pogany moved to Erie, CO, where he was in semi-retirement. He is survived by his widow: Laura of Erie, CO; five brothers: Joseph of Youngstown, OH; William of Rapid City; Charles of Isabel; Ernest of Pierre; Zolton of Hubbard, CO; three sisters: Merrie Hammond of Leaf River, MN; Edith Smith of Hecla, SD; Velma McIlvany of Fremont, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
