Description	:	Paul Richard Goeb, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa, died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at his residence at the Beck. Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Armand Bertrand officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Paul was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Cherokee, to Carl and Anna (Peters) Goeb. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and graduated from high school in 1935. Paul was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Cherokee, to Carl and Anna (Peters) Goeb. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and graduated from high school in 1935. After high school, he went on to attend the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 1939. He was a World War II veteran, serving from May 20, 1942 until Nov. 3, 1945. On Nov. 26, 1942, he married Irene Paulson in Cherokee. He was the owner of the Cherokee Creamery and later worked at Wilson Foods as an accountant for 20 years. He was a long-time member of the Cherokee Country Club. He acted in the community theatre and also supported the Cherokee Symphony and the Sanford Museum. He served on the city council at one time. He was very active at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving on the parish council and was the choir director in the past. He is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Andrea and Dan Dailey of Monmouth, Ore., Kathryn and Kenneth Patterson of Cherokee, Pamela and Michael Jordan of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Connie and Joe Cuttell of Palos Verdes, Calif.; two sons and their wives, Richard and Suzanne Goeb of Danville, Calif., and Christopher and Lou Ann Goeb of Sheldon, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene in 2005; a brother, Roger Goeb in 1995; and a grandson, Johnathan Patterson in 1972.
